On December 24, 1982, after seven years of infertility, I gave birth to Mike and my first child, Rachael. The next day, Mike wrote a beautiful poem, “Once Upon a Silent Night,” in honor of our long-awaited child.
Fast-forward several decades, Mike and I put together a reading/harp duet of his poem. Our church asked us to perform this duet during a Christmas “Carols by Candlelight” service. It became part of our holiday tradition and – whenever we were invited – part of our church’s “Carols by Candlelight” service.
During the first year of the COVID pandemic, our church live-streamed “Carols by Candlelight” with people sending in video-taped performances.
Mike and I arranged to have our duet recorded at a local church.
Please consider this our virtual Christmas card to you.
